International medical Tourists’ expectations and behavioral intention towards health resorts in Malaysia

Medical tourism, a thriving industry encompassing both healthcare and tourism sectors, has experienced exponential growth over the past decades. The intensifying competition within global market necessitates closer examination of pivotal role played by perceptions medical tourists in their decision-making process regarding health destination visits. Thus, this study aims to explore interplay between international tourists' resort attractions expectations, while also investigating mediating effect (expectations) these on behavioral intentions seek treatments Malaysian resort. Drawing Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT) Planned Behavior (TPB), research employed quantitative method, surveying 386 tourists. distribution survey questionnaire utilized online internet email method. partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method examine hypothesized relationships. results conclusively support positive influence expectations intentions. Consequently, provides valuable implications for future development Malaysia.
